We are praising God for a wonderful time of togetherness at the Selah Women's Conference talking about Our Identity in Christ. We heard wonderful reflections, we worshipped, and we prayed. Praise be to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
We had multiple reasons for putting together this conference. First and foremost, it was to remind sisters in Christ the bedrock on which their faith and identity is built. Christ and the Gospel are central and supreme for us here at Selah; we wanted to share that same sentiment with our sisters and to inspire awe for God and His holy magnificence.
The conference also served as a platform where sisters in Christ can form deep, authentic community with one another. It was also our aim, through this conference, to share the importance of women's ministry in the body of Christ here in Addis Ababa and Ethiopia at large.
We started the event with a beautiful worship with Bereket Fekadu, after which Yodit Tariku shared with us the Biblical premise of identity and why, now more than ever, women should base their identity on Christ. She gave us much to contemplate on and we had a chance to do just that as we listening to Tishu. Continuing on Yodit's trajectory, Diana shared with us the necessity to fully and completely place our confidence in the Lord and nothing else. She emphasized on the recent trend that pressures women to be it all themselves, and reminded us to turn our eyes to Him who saved all. After that, Sara Abdella gave us new ways to think of living in a world that has misguided notions about gender and identity. She brought the realities of many of our lives and looked at it from a Biblical point of view. We ended our event with a panel at which our panelists reflected on the talks that took place previously and even responded to live questions from the audience. We are grateful our panelists shared their personal opinions and thoughts.
We are humbled by what God has chosen to do through Selah and the lives He has chosen to touch through it. We are excited until we get the chance to see you all again soon. Until then, love God and revere God with all your heart and mind.
